2018: Starting the Year Right

Have you ever wondered why some people can easily cope up and handle problems and situations better than others? How about asking yourself what things you can do to survive life’s daily trials and tribulations? It is undeniable that there are so many questions that need answers; problems on health, food, shelter and money-matters that need to be solved. And the more we think of it, the harder things get; even when circumstances tend to be too much for us, making it seemingly useless to persist. 

The year 2017 has its share of ups and downs. Some businesses flourish, while others thread the line of destituteness. Though some people recovered miraculously from poverty, sickness and despair, others however, are already lost in depression and further succumbed along the road to hopelessness. 

But this need not be the case for the current year. To make a difference in 2018, you just need to do a few things: 

1. Plan and create a goal. Think of things that you want to do and accomplish. This will guide you on the path which you are about to take. Do not be afraid to dream; for these dreams are the ones who will make your life happy.

2. Strive hard and be positive. In order to accomplish your tasks, it is vital to be on the right mind-set. Positivity in everything that you do will make things lighter and enjoyable for you. You need not rush; just keep on going, slow and steady. You know your limits. The only thing that will stop you from your goals would be yourself.

3. Be practical and focus on things needed to be done. Never over expend on anything; not on food, clothing, shelter or vices. But that doesn’t mean you cannot treat and indulge yourself once in a while. You also have a life to live. Remember, all work and no play doesn’t cut it.

4. Keep away from stress. This is the most important thing to do, but definitely the hardest. Stress-free living will ensure that you enjoy every minute of your existence. How do you do that? Do the things that you want to do but make sure that you set boundaries and never overstep the line. Having too much of anything is definitely bad for you. Keep things in moderation; be it in food, drinks or personal activities.

If you want a simple explanation on how to be positive and stay happy? Think about premature babies. These cherubs are born before the usual 37 weeks than that of a normal baby delivery. Most would think that these babies are of weaker state, and that chances of survival are slim. But what you don’t know is that premature babies embody courage and determination. Every one of them are born in the middle of a battle to live and survive. They are the strongest of fighters; and at their young age, they try their best to make it through. 

And there is nothing in this world that is sweeter than that of a baby’s smile! Especially when it comes from preemies. Every smile that they make assures you --- that everything will be alright.

Life Is Good is a compilation of life’s experiences as a whole, however big or small. It does not dwell on the daily challenges in life, but rather on its positive aspects. Every one of us encounter different levels of stress and challenges each day. One thing is for certain, no matter how heavy the problem you are facing, there is always someone in other parts of the globe who carries a heavier load and is coping up really well facing it.
