Cape Santiago Lighthouse in Calatagan, Batangas. Home to one of the oldest lighthouses in the entire archipelago, the Cape Santiago Lighthouse was built way back in 1890 by the Spaniards, and is part of the “Plan General de Alumbrado de Maritimo de las Costas del Archipelago de Filipino” or “Masterplan for the Lighting of the Maritime Coasts of the Philippine Archipelago.” Afterward, you may spend the day on one of the many white sandy and rocky beaches of Calatagan. When dining, you may buy fresh seafood, meat or vegetables in the nearby market and bring it home for cooking. Three of the more popular places where you may stay include the Ronco Resort, Manuel Uy Beach Resort, and the Stilts Calatagan.

Getting to Calatagan: Board any of the vans en route directly from EDSA, Taft Avenue to Calatagan. Usual travel time is between 3 to 4 hours.

Budget Cost: Fare Rate PhP400/head, Accommodation Rate: PhP150-200/head, Food: PhP200/head.

Tagaytay is a frequent destination place especially during the hot summer season because of the cool breeze and grand scenery. Make sure to pass-by the Taal Lake and enjoy its absolutely breath-taking views. You may drop by the Mahogany Market, Green Ats, or Bag of Beans and dine to your heart’s content.

Getting to Tagaytay: Board buses at the DLTB Bus Terminal located along Taft Avenue, or via the MMDA Southwest Integrated Bus Terminal at the Coastal Mall. Usual travel time is between 1 to 2 hours.

Budget Cost: Fare Rate PhP80-90/head, Food: PhP200/head.

Nuvali in Sta. Rosa, Laguna is one of the prime destination places in the area. If you are into wakeboarding, water biking or paddleboarding, the Nuvali Republic Wakepark can be your destination of choice.

Getting to Nuvali: Board the Tas Trans buses if you will come from Makati City; vans along Alabang Town Center and EDSA-Starmall will bring you directly to Nuvali.

Budget Cost: Fare Rate PhP250/head, Food: PhP200/head.

White sand and crystal clear beaches surrounded by lush forests and mountains. That would describe the resorts around Nasugbu, Batangas like Punta Fuego and Pico De Loro. Go for scuba diving, snorkeling, and Fortune island boat rides, and cook fresh seafood on the many sites around the area. You may choose to stay at the Munting Buhangin Beach Camp or Berna Beach. They have many affordable accommodations.

Getting to Nasugbu: Board buses near Manila City Hall, or along EDSA-Taft Avenue.
