Travel To Dumaguete

Travelling together with my family makes me happy, and it is one of the most memorable and exciting moments I have experienced in my life. I cannot wait until vacation comes, and I am excited to find out where we are going this summer. Even though I don’t know where we are going, my things are already packed waiting for the announcement of the day we will leave for the airport.

At last we’re leaving for Dumaguete Island! I Wakeup early, and I was the first one in the car, calling and insisting my elder sister to wake up and get ready. Hurry up!  Hurry up!
I can’t wait till we reach the island. From the window of the airplane ready to take off, I see the green scenery of the island down below, as well as the blue water and the houses so calm welcoming me to the island of Dumaguete.  At the airport somebody picks us up. On the way to the resort, we see people around, happy faces, scooters, tricycle, jeepneys and local shops.

We head for our resort. It looks like a humongous rest house with a big field in the middle. We get one of those cabanas near the beach, without aircon.

The afternoon is hot, but the sea wind would breeze through. It feels good hanging out in the beach, collecting hermit crabs and shells with my sister. We spend our afternoons on the bridges that split the beach into two. It reaches out into the sea, and at the end of that bridge, there was a raft tied to one of the columns.

I was scared to swim to that raft because of the thought of sharks coming at me, eating me up in one bite, so I never stayed there for long. During the mornings, I would play with the hotel owner’s dog, Russell. He was fun to play with. I would throw a ball or a coconut into the ocean and he would go swim to it, and come back onto the beach, but he wouldn’t return it to me. He would dig himself a little hole, and he would lie there gnawing on the coconut until it is only threads of coconut.
