Alexandra, Umawra Sa Miss Aura International 2021. Unang Korona Naiuwi Para SA Bansa.

Building an empire needs comrades for help, work, and companions through ups and downs. And a queen should have the heart to serve them and to be with them at all cost-- And that is what Ms. Alexandra Faith Garcia did in her journey to her first crown.

Alexandra Faith Garcia is an athlete, beauty queen, and businesswoman representing Olongapo city. She was first seen in many triathlete events around the region before joining beauty pageants. Her journey to pageantry is a pretty familiar story of a Filipina with a cause and the drive to implement positive change in her community. They were uniting, especially with the motivation to empower women.

In 2020, in the middle of this crisis brought by the Covid-19 pandemic, she joined one of the famous pageants in the country, the Binibining Pilipinas. Her journey to this stage was not easy, as she faced top competitors from different regions. In “pageant terminology,” she was not a front-runner at all, nor was she famous like the other candidates known in the “pageant world.” She placed none of the titles and did not make it to the first cut. As you can imagine, this echoed sadness for her and her team.

Fortunately, in the same year, “pageantry” did not want to lose her. She was appointed to join Miss Aura International as the first Filipina to compete. She landed the opportunity, and she accepted it with all her heart, and that was the beginning where she strengthened, gathered, and developed a team that would help her be Queen.

Those two weeks of battling for the first Miss Aura International crown for the Philippines in Turkey is her first time traveling abroad. It was her first time competing on an international stage, and her first time competing on her own. There was no team behind her physically, but her determination to bring home the crown was unstoppable. Because she believed that the Philippines and her team way back home had her back. Her empire truly comprises her comrades who she considers her team-- the people she trusts and communicates with. From the styling to her “pasarela,” talent, communications skills, and her wardrobe from the national costume to her evening gowns. These people are her backbone, and she knows that…

To be a queen having the crown on the top of her head is not the most important thing. But the empire that she built with the people she trusts and loves for the rest of her life. And the bond, experiences, and memories that she has with them in this journey are much more worthy than the fame it brought to her.

And Ms. Alexandra Faith Garcia, our first-ever Filipina who won Miss Aura International, will surely keep this in her mind and take on the responsibilities it brings to her. To show her inner beauty to the rest of the world and accomplish her purpose not only from being the Queen of her team or the country but also from being a woman of power.
