SFU Celebrates Its 13th Anniversary

                                                        (By Natascha Ackermann)

On May1998, Roger and Helen Bartholomew teamed up with founder of SISC, Dr. Genevieve Ledesma-Tan, to inaugurate Southville Foreign University (SFU), the first international college in the country.  Its opening was graced by prestigious dignitaries and a large contingent from the press.
Now on its 13th-year anniversary, SFU is celebrating its many achievements, including providing premier transnational education, enabling students to obtain foreign degrees without having to go abroad, delivering their foreign partners’ curricula, and preparing students to be globally competitive as well as to assume leadership roles.

SFU also received the ISO 9001:2000 certification in 2004 and continues to meet superior international standards to this day.

Heralding their success, they are continuously rewarded with an “A” rating from their foreign partners for excellence in delivery of learning programs and curriculum, as well as its faculty.

Moreover, for two consecutive years, their students’ employability rate within the year of their graduation is an impressive 95%.

In commemoration of their continuing growth and excellence, SFU invited students and parents to partake in their 3-month long celebration because of its many activities.
Events for SFU’s 13th-year anniversary included the following:

Habitat for Humanity
Photo Competition and Exhibit
Parent’s Orientation
Seminar Series: Job Search & Other Options & Mock Interviews
Cultural Diversity
Alumni Event
The SFU-Reva Marketing Plan Competition
Hospitality Competition
Fun Run and others

These events addressed the various interests of students as well as parents. SFU
President Dr. Melva M. Diamante says, “We are celebrating our accomplishments and, at the same time, we want to challenge our students’ academic and physical abilities, as well as their students’ cultural diversity awareness”
