Miss Universe 2011 3rd runner-up Ms. Shamcey Supsup
Shamcey Supsup, Age of 24. Born in Iligan City, General Santos City. She was the salutatorian of Makati High School. In College, She took up architecture at the University of the Philippines (UP) and graduated as magna cum laude. She also ranked No. 1 Top Notcher on the National Architectural Board Examination 2010 with a percentage of 86.60% . Besides being a smart lady, she is also a great representative for our country.
She won and was crowned as Bb. Pilipinas or Ms. Philippines last April 10, 2011 at Araneta Coliseum. With this, She also gained the responsibility of being the representative of the Filipinos at the international pageant, Ms Universe. On September 12, 2011 in Sao Paulo, Brazil She represented the Philippines at the said contest, Ms Universe. She amazed everyone with her tsunami walk and how she carries the outfits given to her.
From top 16 to top 5, I was rooting for my country representative. I was silently praying that she was to be crowned Ms. Universe. In the final question portion of the pageant, Ms. Vivica Fox asked her, “ Would you change your religion to marry the man you love? Why or Why not?” She answered cool and collected, “ If I would have to change my religious beliefs, I would not marry the man I love, Because the first person that I love is God, who created me and I have my faith, my principles, and this is what makes me who I am and If that person loves me, He should love my God too. Thank you.” With this being said, She made me believe in my faith stronger and she made me very proud of my race as a Filipino. Even if she was third runner up and not Ms Universe, She made us proud by trying her best and getting that far into the pageant, I can say that she is my Ms. Universe, She is smart and beautiful and she makes me proud to say that I am a Filipina.
